KATONAH, N.Y. -- The annual Katonah Halloween Parade is set to kick off on Sunday, but this year the funding mix for the occasion has changed.

Susan Williams, a board member of the Katonah Village Improvement Society (KVIS), told Daily Voice that the town of Bedford is serving as a co-sponsor with KVIS. The Town Board, Williams added, approved additional funding for the parade.

Last year's parade, in contrast, was funded through a Kickstarter campaign.

The parade is scheduled to start on Sunday, Oct. 25 at 3 p.m. The route will be on Katonah Avenue and the crowd will gather before it starts in the parking lot by Modern Paint and Hardware, Williams added.

Williams also noted that a John Jay Middle School band, which is called Abby and the Roadsters, will be performing, and that Bedford Police Chief Melvin Padilla will be displaying new vehicles, including an ATV and motorcycle.
