It happened at around 9:48 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14 in Suffolk County.

Rose Mastrodomenico, 90, of Calverton, was driving a 2014 Nissan eastbound on Route 25A when she attempted to enter the parking lot of The Wading River Medical Center at 271 Route 25A in Wading River when her vehicle was struck by a westbound 2006 Jeep.

Mastrodomenico was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Following an investigation, Suffolk County Police detectives determined that Tara Demauro was the driver of the Jeep.

Following the crash, Demauro provided officers with the name of her relative, Meghan Cunningham of Rocky Point, who was not involved, police said.

Demauro, 48, of Rocky Point, was charged with second-degree criminal impersonation, making a punishable false written statement and driving with a suspended license. She was released on a desk appearance ticket and is due to appear at the First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
