Nyack To Get New Supermarket This Spring

NYACK, N.Y. – Nyack will get a much-needed new supermarket this spring, according to a report by News12.

An independent grocer is planning a May opening, the News12 story said.

According to a story by lohud, Rudy Nunez, who owns supermarkets in the Bronx and Queens, has been scoping out the marketplace for a while and plans to open at the site of the former Stop and Shop in the Hub Shopping Center off Route 59.

The Stop and Shop closed quite a while ago, done in by competition from three other supermarkets -- Shoprite, Pathmark, and A&P, lohud reported.

The latter two have also closed, the lohud story said.
