THE REAL STORY: Although the odds against finding a 14-year-old runaway in the Bronx, of all places, seemed near-impossible, Fairview Police Chief Frank Del Vecchio and a task force he assembled got it done in one night, leading to a tearful reunion with her family. READ MORE….

They suspect but don’t know for sure that she may be in New York City. They and Eylin’s family need your help.

Eylin was last seen the night of Thursday, May 31, when she left her Fulton Avenue home wearing a green shirt and green pants.

“We were following leads which led us to believe she was safe” after her family reported Eylin missing later that night,” Fairview Police Capt. Martin Kahn told CLIFFVIEW PILOT. “Everything all of a sudden hit a wall.”

The Salvadoran Lincoln School student is 5-foot-5 and 150 pounds, with long brown hair and brown eyes said Fairview Police Chief Frank DelVecchio, whose department is treating the situation as a missing persons case.

“At this time all leads have been turning up negative,” DelVecchio said. “It is believed that Eylin may be in the New York City area, but that has not been confirmed. Eylin is under the care of a physician and is without her medication.” PHOTO courtesy Fairview PD

Eylin called her father a few days ago from a block number, he said.

DelVecchio asked that with any information about her whereabouts contact:
