Republican Majority Grows In Dutchess County Legislature

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. – The Republican majority in the Dutchess County Legislature grew by one after absentee ballots were counted for three contested legislative races, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.

Republican Ellen Nesbitt, Independence Party member Jerry Landisi and Democrat Francena Amparo won their respective races when all votes were in.

There will be 16 Republicans and seven Democrats in the County Legislature when the new year starts in January, reported the Poughkeepsie Journal.

Landisi and John Forman will be the other legislature members, each from the Independence Party.
