Weston Boy Nominated for Young Artist Award for 'The Slap'

WESTON, Conn. – A Weston teen has been nominated for a Young Artist Award for his performance in the NBC miniseries, "The Slap."

Owen Tanzer, a 14-year-old Weston student and actor, is nominated in the category of Best Performance in a TV Movie, Miniseries Special or Pilot. Other nominees include Khalid Alzouma for "The Slap," Tate Berney for "The Right Girl," Dalton Cyr for "A History of Radness," Forrest Deal for "Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors, Rio Mangini for "One Crazy Cruise," Isaak Presley for "A History of Radness," Kolton Stewart for "Angels in the Snow," and Graham Verchere for "Perfect Match."

The winner is to be announced on Sunday, March 13.

The Young Artists Awards are presented by the Young Artist Association, a nonprofit organization founded in 1978 to recognize and award excellence of youth performers and to provide scholarships.
