Yonkers OKs Settlement In Fatal Police Shooting

YONKERS, N.Y. -- The Yonkers City Council has voted on a $67,500 payment to the family of a man killed during a 2005 confrontation with police, city officials confirmed Wednesday.

According to a report by lohud.com, David Horn St., a 37-year-old parolee from the Bronx, died after leading police on a three-mile chase and then trying to run officers over when he was cornered in the city.

Horn’s family sued, claiming that excessive force was used in the unarmed man’s capture, the lohud.com article said.

In making the settlement, the city was not admitting any wrongdoing, however, the lohud.com article said.
