Create Korean Lotus Flower Lanterns At Hammond Museum In North Salem

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. --  Learn how to make Korean Lotus Flower Lanterns at Hammond Museum and Japanese Stroll Garden at 1:30 p.m. July 19.

Hammond Museum and Japanese Stroll Garden is located at 28 Deveau Road in North Salem. 

Members of the Korean Spirit and Culture Promotion Project will help attendees make traditional lotus flower lanterns using colorful paper and wire frames. Korean artist Sunwha Gil will demonstrate the art of hangul (Korean Calligraphy). 

A short documentary film on Korean artistic tradition will be shown as an introduction to the aesthetics of Korea.  

All materials will be provided and traditional Korean refreshments will be served.

Registration is required to allow for purchasing of supplies. There is a fee of $10 for museum members $10 and $15 for non-members.
