Many varieties of herbs and plants, including some unusual ones, will be available for purchase and unit members will advise on herb use and cultivation.
In celebration of the 2014 Herb of the Year (Artemisia), the herb fair will feature tarragon vinegar and mustard, as well as educational materials including "Artemisia” an Herb Society of America Essential Guide.
Homemade pantry items including jellies and preserves and fresh pesto and chutneys will be available, as will be such unique items as grapefruit lovage jelly, brandied peaches and zucchini relish. Herbal baked goods, potpourri, local honey, gardening aids and herbal gifts & books will be offered.
A raffle featuring herbal items, gardening tools and gift certificates for farm foods and fine dining will also be held. An herbal lunch, which includes herbal sandwiches, sage cookies and the unit's very popular lovage soup, will be available for purchase.
Admission to the fair is free.
