The next volunteer gathering will be held Tuesday, July 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine. Volunteers do not need to know anything about farming and should dress to get dirty, bring a water bottle and bring sunscreen.

Westchester Land Trust’s (WLT) half-acre Sugar Hill Farm headquarters supplies much needed fresh produce to local food pantries and soup kitchens. Last year, 12,667 pounds of vegetables were harvested from among the Food Bank’s partner sites – the highest yields since the program began. Volunteers who plant seedlings, weed, and tend and harvest crops are an important part of the program’s success.

Twice-monthly volunteer gatherings continue through October.
