Bedford Audubon Hosts Free Bird Walking, Hawk-Watching Events

BEDFORD, N.Y. – The Bedford Audubon Society has several free bird walking and hawk-watching events planned throughout the rest of November.

“Bird Walk: Jamaica Bay” will be held Saturday, Nov. 22, from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m.

Bedford Audubon Naturalist Tait Johansson will lead the walk, which is family friendly for children at least 12 years old.

Participants can meet at Bedford Audubon Society’s Bylane Farm, Todds Road, Katonah at 7 a.m., or the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center, Broad Channel, Queens at 8:30 a.m.

“Science in Action: Chestnut Ridge Hawkwatch,” will be held every day from 8 a.m.- 4 p.m., until Dec. 1.

Weather permitting, the events will be held at the Arthur Butler Sanctuary on Chestnut Ridge Road in Bedford Hills.
