Local artists will exhibit and sell original works of painting, sculpture and photography from Friday to Sunday at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 382 Cantitoe St.

The annual art show will display an array of accessible, intriguing and affordable art with a contemporary flair, while at the same time benefiting the church group's outreach projects to local charitable organizations. Many of these organizations, such as the Boys & Girls Club, My Second Home and Neighbors Link, operate out of Mount Kisco.

Susan Grissom, gallery director at the Lionheart Gallery in Pound Ridge, and St. Matthew's parishioner Leslie Henshaw of Waccabuc are curators for the show.

The 2013 art show's co-chairs are Laura Blau of Bedford and Laurie Sturz of Pound Ridge, both members of Women of St. Matthew's Church.

"We are very grateful for the years of continued support by the artists, volunteers and patrons of the show," Blau said. "We feel honored to be part of the tradition."

The group will throw a gala preview party from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday in the church's Fellowship Hall. Tickets cost $125 per person and $150 at the door.

The party this year includes traditional offerings of champagne and hors d'oeuvres by Table Local Market in Bedford Hills, "small plates" donated by Crabtree's Kittle House and Happiness Is, and desserts from La Tulipe, Blau said.

Admission is free as the exhibition and sale continue over the weekend. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.

From noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, the show will host the “It Takes a Village” project. Conceived by local artist Denise Minnerly, the multigenerational activity lets participants create clay houses that will become part of a larger clay village.

On Sunday, MS Appraisal Services will be available from 1 to 4 p.m. to appraise artwork guests bring from home.

Recipients of event proceeds include ASPCA Golden Outreach, Abbot House, Bedford Hills Correctional Children’s Center, the Boys & Girls Club, the Chaplaincy Committee of Northern Westchester Hospital, Community Center of Northern Westchester, Hope’s Door and Hope's Door's Star Program, Midnight Run, the Mount Kisco Childcare Center, Mount Kisco Interfaith Food Pantry, My Second Home, and Neighbors Link.
