TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- Nonprofit Westchester has announced that Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts, and the Center for Career Freedom have joined the organization.
“We are so pleased to welcome Caramoor, which provides exceptional musical and artistic experiences to our region, and the Center for Career Freedom, which helps those with disabilities find employment, to our growing organization,” said Joanna Straub, NPW executive director.
“As we near 100 members, we are excited that our membership includes nonprofit organizations that provide such a breadth of valuable services to Westchester County.”
Located in Katonah, Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts provides musical performances, engaging arts-in-education programming, the historical Rosen House and beautiful grounds to experience.
Since 1945, visitors have enjoyed music — from classical to opera to jazz — and the enchanting garden setting. Caramoor is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Center for Career Freedom’s mission is to assist with the rehabilitation and recovery of people with chronic psychiatric disabilities so that they can obtain competitive employment. All staff members are survivors of mental illness and have extensive experience in business, as well as counseling and teaching. With 14 staff and volunteers, the center has assisted more than 500 men and women with psychiatric disabilities.
