The merger, which was facilitated by Warren Buffett and the private equity firm 3G Capital hailed the move as a cost savings venture that could save an estimated $1.5 billion, Business Insider reported.
Those savings, however, will come in the reduction of redundancies which could include the closure of warehouses and office space as well as a reduction in workforce, Business Insider said.
