Dozens of stores are participating, according to Kathy Boyle, a member of the chamber's board who serves on its holiday committee. Each of the participating stores have voting booths and ballots, Boyle explained. Voting is open to Katonah residents and non-residents alike.
Boyle explained that the contest, which runs until Dec. 23, includes three voting categories: Most Creative, Most Festive and Prettiest.
Prizes for winning merchants, Boyle added, are dinner for two at three local restaurants.
The holiday season is a significant time for the chamber. On Sunday, a large crowd came to downtown Katonah for the chamber-backed Christmas tree and Menorah lightings. The event included an array of musical performances and handing out of gift-basket raffle prizes. Coverage of the celebration is available here. Photos of the event are also on the Katonah Chamber's Facebook page.
