The gathering was a session for friends and family members of employees, according to Brian Egan, a franchisee for the location. Community members, including Mayor Michael Cindrich and people associated with the Mount Kisco Chamber of Commerce, also attended.

The Mount Kisco location is the business's first in Westchester and its third in New York, Egan explained.

“The location was very favorable,” Egan said when asked why Mount Kisco was chosen. Egan also noted there are "really good demographics here” and said there is a “great community.”

The company has 800 locations and 500 in development, Egan explained. He attributes the rate of the upcoming expansion to the company's product and getting great franchisees.

A notable aspect of the company's arrival in Mount Kisco is a partnership it has with the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester. Egan mentioned that the shop is distributing free sub cards and will ask for a minimum donation to the Boys & Girls Club. Proceeds for the initiative will then be given to the club.

Egan also brought up Jersey Mike's having a history of working with Boys & Girls Clubs, such as in Ridgefield, Conn.

Brian Skanes, the club's executive director, said he is “really happy to be partnering” with Egan and Jersey Mike's. He noted that Jersey Mike's approached the club, and Egan mentioned partnering with other Boys & Girls Clubs.

Cindrich called Jersey Mike's “another great business for the village of Mount Kisco.” He also expressed thanks for the business investing in the community.

Jersey Mike's Mount Kisco location is at 25 S. Moger Ave. More information about the site is available here.
