BEDFORD, N.Y. – Linda Johnson, the owner of Bedford Village Frame Shop & Gallery thinks of framing in a much deeper way than simply four pieces of wood and a mat.

“Framing art for my customers is a process starting with the design session," she said. "I'm happy to hear the customer’s ideas first, have a discussion about how they feel about the art, where it will be displayed, if it is a decorator piece or a treasure to be framed for its own sake.

"I take much pleasure in presenting the customer with the finished product.”

Johnson credits her collaborative thought process, personal touch, and attention to detail for the shop's success -- it turns 10-years-old this week.

From surpassing expectations for the interior designer who wants something extraordinary for a client, to taking great care in honoring a child’s artwork or school certificate that needs framing, Johnson says she caters to every need -- and appreciates every client, as well as her associates and "amazing gallery artists."

“It’s because of them that we have reached this milestone and are so honored to be celebrating our 10-year anniversary," she said.

To mark the store's anniversary, Johnson is hosting a special gallery opening and cocktail reception Friday, Nov. 3 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. complete with wine and appetizers. RSVP is required; call 914-234-4811.

Gallery artists for the event include Beth Boyland, Ed Little, Connor McGinn, Claire Melbourne, Mollie McNealy, and others.

Bedford Village Frame Shop & Gallery is at 15 Court Street.
