Laning, who has owned the popular florist for 13 years, is putting the finishing touches on Thanksgiving arrangements for the first three days of this week. She is open Monday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to prepare arrangements for holiday tables.

“People typically look for lush arrangements that include fruit, roses, amaryllis and hydrangeas,’’ Laning said. “We try to accommodate all budgets.”

After Thanksgiving, Laning and her staff quickly transition to Christmas. She has to decorate her store, and she is also booked through next weekend in decorating area homes for the holidays.

“The shorter window between Thanksgiving and Christmas has a huge impact on us,’’ she said. “It’s going to be a busy first week of December. There’s a lot to do, and it has to happen quickly. People want their homes decorated.”

Laning will decorate homes inside and out, handling both indoor and outdoor decorations. Her staff can provide fresh floral arrangements for the holidays as well as wreaths, gifts, and gourmet baskets..

Bedford Village Florist will host an open house on Dec. 7 to showcase different ways families can decorate homes for the holidays. “We try to offer inspiration for people,’’ Laning said. “We always offer a large selection of gorgeous flowers. We also have interesting gifts, containers and candles. It’s a special day for us.” The store will offer refreshments during the open house. Groups who are interested in arranging a class in wreath-making or centerpieces can contact Laning. She will create a time to teach people how to create their own. “People can get four or five of their friends together and come in,’’ she said. “They can bring in a wine and cheese and have a little party atmosphere.”
